Taylor 1991 - 2018

For me, losing a pet is like losing a child. I have had many, many cats and dogs throughout my life and it has never gotten easier to say good-bye. I don’t know if it ever will.

In all the turmoil of last year, with my husband deciding to leave and move back to Utah, and my Mother moving in with me, I lost three cats. Two in May, exactly two weeks apart. The other in November. I thought that was enough.

Today, my 27-year old bundle of pure joy, piss and vinegar decided she was done with kidney failure and just wanted to go home to see her fur-Mama and her fur-siblings. I didn’t want her to go, but I also didn’t want her to suffer any more than she already was.

The procedure was quick and painless and the Vet was very sympathetic. One Tech said my cat was older than him.

Twenty-seven is a long, long time for a cat to live. I wished it had been longer.

Good-bye my darling little Taylor. There is a new hole in my heart now, but I know you are in a much better Heaven than what you had on Earth.
